 A Little About Me . . .

Hi, I’m Debbie Flynn.

In my 30 years of professional design and photography experience, I’ve done a lot of things. I’ve photographed people, wildlife, nature and travel. I’ve taken portraits of everyone from loving families to the top executives of newly listed companies at the TSX and and even photographed 2 of the only 3 women Westjet pilots at the time, sitting in the cockpit of a brand new plane in the Westjet hanger. I’ve also been part of a women’s photography collective — Femme Foto — who had major exhibitions. I am glad to bring all of this experience to the photobooks I create to bring out the essence of families and business people.

Beyond taking photographs, I’ve worked as a freelance magazine writer, corporate communications designer, an instructor at Vancouver Island University, have 20 years experience as a healing practitioner, and now I teach online, bringing the knowledge and experience I’ve gathered to people all over the world.

More than anything, I understand how much these photos mean to you and your family, and the story they tell is the story closest to your heart.

So you can finally have the photo book you’ve been dreaming of!

Look, I get it. You probably have a ton of concerns about turning your photos into a digital story book.

When I wanted to create a special photo book as a Christmas present for my son and daughter-in-law I had similar concerns, even as a professional.

There were so many photos, stored in so many different places, I wasn't sure where to start! But I took the time to look at the photos from their ten years together and the memories came flooding back. I felt happy and sad because they had been through good times and very serious times.

What stood out was their love was even stronger. It was clear after looking through the photos the book was going to be about their love story.

I brought my experience as a photographer, writer and design creative to plan the time frames needed for each element of the book. I had a publishing date, too, because it needed to be ready for Christmas!

My son and daughter-in-law were surprised and delighted with their photo book. My husband and I have our own copy and we're always deeply touched when we look at the book because we can relive those special moments.
